FAQ's

  • What type of communications are there at camp?

Communications by smoke signals are excellent (depending on the wind). Two way communication requires a mutually understood code. Messages are not kept thus ensuring complete privacy (unless recorded photographically, of course).

There is NO cell phone service on our lakes (sounds wonderful, eh?).  Satellite phones are available for rent while staying at an outpost cabin.

Our main method of communication is by radio phone. Radio phones are available for emergency contact at our lodges. Please direct your family to call 807 868 2208 to reach you during your stay. Guests are more than welcome to use our radio phone to call home or work.

WI-FI is available in close proximity to the main office at our Buck Cabins location. It's not high speed, but is better than smoke signals! We reserve the right to restrict access to meet camp needs. Our bandwidth is limited and once we reach capacity, we are slowed right down slower than a turtle until our monthly renewal date. We ask guests to use the internet to soley check emails and weather. We also request that you do not upload, download or stream anything. We appriciate your co-operation with this policy and encourage you to pick up the radio phone and call your family directly. You know, like in the olden days......
