Obakamiga Lake translates to "lake of many lakes." As you fly over on your floatplane approach, you will view three pristine lakes joined as one. Hard to pronounce, Obakamiga has been shortened to Buck Lake and has been known by this name for generations.

Our two deluxe housekeeping lodges, Buck and Bingwood Cabins, are located within 2 miles of each other on the southern end of Buck Lake. This 7,400 acre wilderness lake is divided into three fingers with numerous islands, bays, reefs, and rocky shoreline — providing excellent habitat for hard-striking Walleye, aggressive Northern Pike, white fish and jumbo Perch. A slightly tea-stained colour and cooler water temperature keeps the angling action going all season long.

At Buck and Bingwood Cabins we understand the need for comfortable lodging after a great day of fly-in fishing on Northern Ontario's finest waters. Relax in our fully equipped wilderness cabins accommodating 2 to 10 guests. If the weather has you chilled, throw another log on the fire, sit back, and enjoy the view from our large windows overlooking the lake. All cabins feature their own private dock, 3-piece bath, hot showers, and fully equipped kitchen with barbecue. All linens are supplied.

Just as important as a comfortable cabin is having the right equipment for a memorable Northern Ontario fishing vacation. Our premium fleet features twelve 16' Mirrocraft Outfitter boats with flat bottom floors, live wells, pedestal bucket seats, fish finders, and full safety equipment — powered by 30hp Yamaha electric start motors with power trim. Our standard fleet consists of well-maintained 16' Lunds boats with 20hp Yamaha electric start motors, fish finders, swivel seats, and full safety equipment. Every boat hits the lake each morning clean with a full tank of gas.

For your convenience, both Buck and Bingwood locations feature screened-in fish cleaning houses, fish wrapping supplies, freezers, and ice machines — everything you need to bring your trophy Northern Pike and Walleye catch home.

No fly-in fishing trip to Northern Ontario is complete without a shore lunch. This time-honoured tradition of freshly caught fish cooked over an open fire, served with beans and potatoes, is a ritual our guests return for year after year. Join our weekly shore lunches on Loon Island for a meal prepared by us while you sit back and take in the wilderness around you.
